Cookie Policy
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on dailyroot.site, why we use them, and how you can control them.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so that it can recognize your browser on later visits or on other pages. "Similar technologies" include pixels (tiny images or scripts that record that a page was loaded), local storage (a browser feature that keeps settings on your device), and identifiers assigned to a browser or device. In this policy we use "cookies" to refer to all of these.
Who sets them
Some cookies are set by us, the operator of the Site, ZN Digital Ventures LLC. Others are set by third parties whose services we use, such as analytics and advertising platforms. We do not control third-party cookies; the companies that set them do so under their own privacy policies.
The categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary and preferences | Remember your cookie choice and your text-size setting so that we do not ask again and the Site looks the way you left it. This information is kept in your browser's local storage and is not sent to us. | Cookie choice; text size; menu state |
| Analytics | Help us understand which pages are read, how long visitors stay, how they arrived, and whether the Site performs well on different devices. Reports are aggregated. | Third-party analytics services |
| Advertising | Measure the results of our advertising on social media and other platforms, and allow those platforms to show our advertising to people who have visited the Site or who resemble our readers. May include the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) and similar tags from other platforms. | Meta Pixel; other advertising platform tags |
Our cookie notice
On your first visit, a notice at the bottom of the page offers two choices: Accept and Decline. Your selection is stored in your browser so that we do not ask again on that device. Choosing Decline records that you do not wish to accept non-essential cookies. Because some third-party technologies operate under their own controls, we also recommend the browser and platform settings described below if you wish to limit tracking comprehensively. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data for dailyroot.site, after which the notice will appear again.
How to manage cookies
- Browser settings. Every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies, and clear local storage, through its settings or preferences menu. Blocking all cookies may affect some features of the Site, such as remembering your text size.
- Advertising platforms. Social media platforms provide advertising preference controls within your account settings, including options to limit ads based on activity on other websites.
- Industry opt-outs. The Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org) provide tools for opting out of interest-based advertising from participating companies. Visitors in Europe can use Your Online Choices (youronlinechoices.eu).
- Global Privacy Control. Where required by law, we honor browser-based opt-out preference signals for the browser in which they are set.
How long cookies last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them; the lifetime depends on the cookie and the company that sets it. Local storage entries remain until you clear them. Our preference entries have no expiry and can be removed at any time by clearing site data.
